“I’m glad I had the opportunity to be on summer staff because Haluwasa is like a theme park for the human soul. When you work here you get to meet – and have close fellowship with people you otherwise would never know existed. You become part of something that is bigger than you and bigger than life. You can just feel the awesome power of God all around you. No matter where you go you always know that God is there – but at Haluwasa God is more real than the person standing right in front of you. You can especially feel His presence when you see the wonders and miracles He not only performs in your life – but also in the lives of the campers and other around you. Working at Haluwasa is better than any amusement ride and better than anything I have ever done in my life. I wouldn’t trade a summer working on staff at Haluwasa for anything! God has His hand over this place and that’s exactly where I want to be – in God’s hand.”

“I’m glad I had the opportunity to be part of Haluwasa’s summer staff because of God. God is good and He is amazing all the time. I can see His power and His provision so clearly here. I live in the city, so it is beautiful to look around and see God’s creation everywhere, to look up at the stars at night and see the vastness of God’s power and to just feel like God is giving me one big hug. Haluwasa is a place where you go to even for a short weekend and leave a completely different person. I love to serve and minister here because I know that it is absolutely what God wants me to do. Knowing this gives me a peace that comes from being in the will of God and it gives me strength to handle anything that comes my way because I know that God is for me and it doesn’t matter what is up against me. The kids are amazing, I love having a group of kids each week who I get to play games with and have Bible studies with and talk with about God. My favorite moments from the summer are those times that I got to play with them and I thank God for calling me to Haluwasa”.

I’m glad I had the opportunity to be a part of Haluwasa’s summer staff because I had the opportunity to serve the Lord in an awesome way. What’s more, in my serving, God gave me a lot too. I thought that I would leave camp having (hopefully) had made an impact and taught a few campers a thing or two about the Lord. But while that has happened, it’s been a two-way road: the campers have had an impact on me and God has taught me a thing or too about Himself. I’ve also learned that to be the best leader you sometimes have take the lowly position of a servant. God honors that!!!

Looking back, I have no regrets for leaving my beloved family, friends, country, continent and all that I ever knew to come and work here!! If I had a chance to re-do everything again, I’d do it in a heartbeat and I wouldn’t change a single thing!!! ?

I’m glad I had the opportunity to be part of Haluwasa’s summer staff because it was the most exciting, life changing, and memorable experience of my life. The staff here at Haluwasa or should I say family here at Haluwasa has been more than a blessing for me. Each one of them has made an impact on my life in so many different ways. Looking back on the summer, I can see exactly how God hand picked each one of us to work here.

I have never made as good as friends as I have here, or seen people who love God so much as the staff does here. The most important thing though that I got out of my experience here at Haluwasa, is my relationship with God. God made Himself so real to me in so many ways, that I am speechless on how amazing He is. I went through many trying situations that I know on my own I could never go through. Yet, through God, I was able to overcome these trails and situations. I know that the most important thing I got out of this summer here at Haluwasa is the stronger faith with God that I am walking away with. I know, that God was glorified here at camp Haluwasa, and because of that this past summer has been an amazing experience for me.
