When is Camper Check-In?
Camper check-in is on Sunday between 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm.
*Note: You will not be able to check in before 3:00 pm

Will I be able to tour the Camp when I get there?
If you would like a walking tour of the camp, there is one scheduled every
Sunday at 2:45 pm. This is the only walking tour scheduled. Due to security
reasons, once registration begins, no one is permitted to walk around the
grounds. Bus Tours of the camp are available after 3 pm.

When can I meet my camper’s counselor?
“Meet the Counselors” is held every Sunday near the registration area at 2:30 pm. This will be the only time the counselors are free to meet and talk with parents. Counselors are supervising their campers after 3:00 pm.

My camper came with a friend. Can they be in the same cabin?
We want campers to be with their friends; however, programs are divided by age so campers must be in the
same age group to be together. To request your camper be with a friend it must be arranged for well in advance. Do so by filling out the cabin partner request portion on camper registration form.

Does my Camper need spending money?
Yes, Campers typically spend money at Haluwasa’s snack shop and gift shop which are open evenings. Most
campers come with at least $15. When you submit your final payment, there is a place to specify the amount of spending money you want to provide for your camper. The amount is transferred to what we call a “bank card” which is a debit-type card. Each camper purchase during the week is subtracted from the total amount provided. At the end of the week, the unspent total is refunded to parents at the snack shop.

What about camp photos?
Camp photos will be available for purchase on Friday for $5 each.

Does my camper have access to a public telephone?
Campers do not have access to a public telephone to minimize the occurrence of homesickness and program
interruption. In the case of any emergency, parents will be called by the staff. Parents can call and check
on campers through the Haluwasa Main Office at (609)561-3081.

What if my camper is sick?
It is important not to bring a camper that is contagious or experiencing a sickness condition that will not allow them to enjoy the mental and physical challenges of camping. If you’re not sure what to do, call Haluwasa in advance to discuss the situation with our Camp Registrar.

What about camper medications?
Haluwasa’s Medical Director will administer camper medications and treat campers during the week. Bring
medications with instructions and give them to the Haluwasa Medical Director at registration. At the end of
the week, all unclaimed medications will be disposed of as required by New Jersey law.

What about camper pick-up on Friday?
We welcome parents and extended family to attend our closing program starting at 6 pm. Luggage will not be available until after the closing program. If you need to pick up your camper early you must give at least 24 hour notice to the main office.

What about dinner for my camper on Friday?
Campers will be fed dinner before dismissal.
Snacks will be available for purchase at the snack shop for friends and family.

What if I have a question not covered on this sheet?
The Haluwasa staff is available Monday through Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm to answer any other questions you may have regarding the summer programs.
